Florida Tomato Foodie Awards
A Contest Celebrating Chefs and Restaurants that are into Florida Tomatoes

Attention Foodservice Partners:

Do you have a customer, perhaps a restaurateur or a chef that really knows how to celebrate the flavor of fresh round field-grown Florida tomatoes in an appetizer, main meal, drink or even dessert? If so, you may want to honor this savvy chef and their feature by putting them up for a Florida Tomato Foodie Award. If your guy or gal takes the prize…we’d also like to give you a little something too, for recognizing good talent.

Perhaps it is a signature dish on the menu – could be an appetizer, main meal or dessert. The sky’s the limit. Please forward us the name, description and photo of the Florida tomato feature. We totally respect your trade secrets, so we don’t require the recipe instruction, but we do require a brief description.

Winners will be chosen each month by the Florida Tomato Chef, Justin Timineri and Florida Tomato Committee. All winners will be celebrated on floridatomatoes.org web site (Florida Tomato Foodie Award section) and in announcements. We’ll also award the restaurant chef with an official “Florida Tomato Foodie Award” certificate and $900, with the nominating foodservice operator getting a $100 reward for recognizing a winner. We’ll do this every month during Florida tomato season, April through June. And then we’ll start over again in October!

Chefs wanting to enter themselves in this contest are welcome to do so and would be eligible to win a Foodie Award and the $900 prize. All other requirements stand.

To be eligible, chefs and restaurateurs agree to support Florida tomato growers by including and identifying Florida round field-grown tomatoes in their dish and on their menus. By entering the contest, you agree to the use of your name for advertising and promotional purposes without compensation. Failure to comply will result in the selection of an alternate winner. Liability for applicable federal, state or other taxes will be the sole responsibility of the individual winners.
