Florida Tomato Recipe Contest Kicks Off ‘Most Delicious Dish’
Do you have a favorite fresh Florida tomato recipe that you would like to share? Whether it is an old family favorite or an entirely new addition to your kitchen, the Florida Tomato Committee would like to hear about it. To celebrate the versatility and great flavor of fresh Florida tomatoes, the Committee announces its
Most Delicious Dish Recipe Contest
. All food enthusiasts and cooks are invited to submit an original recipe that incorporates fresh Florida tomatoes. The winning recipe will be selected on the basis of taste, appearance and ease of preparation, with attention also given to clear and creative photos.
Florida Tomatoes – Most Delicious Dish – Win $500
What –
For the spring season, recipe submissions will be accepted through June 2011*, with a winner chosen during April, May and June 2011 for a “Most Delicious Dish” award for best Florida tomato recipe. Winning recipes will be featured on the Florida tomato website for all to enjoy and winners will also receive a $500 cash award.

Who can enter?
– Cooks and food bloggers of all levels are invited to participate. Must be at least 18 years of age to enter.
Criteria:
The dish must include fresh Florida tomatoes.
It could be for any dish: main course, salad, side dish, appetizer, or dessert. Visual appeal, taste, creativity and ease of preparation will also be considered in the judging. Particular attention will be given to recipes submitted with clear and creative photos.
Guidelines:
• Include a good quality and appetizing image.
• Make sure the recipe is yours. It’s fine if it’s adapted from another recipe.
• Provide a clear and concise ingredient list and directions.
• Submissions for spring will be collected online through June 20, 2011.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, 18 years and older.
• Recipe must include a photo.
• Be sure to tell us why you love cooking with Florida tomatoes.

Judging
– Winning recipes will be selected by the Florida Tomato Committee staff with help from Florida Chef, Justin Timineri. Particular consideration will be given to recipes submitted with clear and creative photos.

Prizes
– $500 check to a total (3) winners for the three month Spring contest. Winners will be chosen monthly. Monthly contest begins again in October 2011, submissions to be accepted beginning September 1, 2011.
Winners

The Committee will be accepting entries for the Spring 2011 season through June 2011. The Committee will accept entries again for Fall 2011-12 season beginning September 1, 2011. For Fall/Winter/Spring season, there will be winners each month beginning October 2011 through June 2012.
*Submissions for each month’s contest close on the 20th of each month.
All entrants acknowledge and agree that recipes become the property of the Florida Tomato Committee, which reserves the right to edit, modify, copyright and publish them for advertising, public relations and promotional purposes in any media without attribution or compensation. By entering the contest, you agree to the use of your name for advertising and promotional purposes without compensation. Failure to comply will result in the selection of an alternate winner.
